Baiyunshan Ecological Park of Pingxiang City covers a total area of 413.7 hectares, located in the new area of Pingxiang City, on the east side of Baiyunshan Scenic Avenue, adjacent to the office building of Pingxiang City Administrative Centre. The park is rich in landscape resources, rare plants, there are a number of natural springs on the mountain, the top of the mountain is built with an ancient fort, is one of the highest peaks in Pingxiang City, the top of the mountain can be viewed from the entire Pingxiang City, beautiful scenery, charming scenery. The park is equipped with viewing platforms, landscape sketches, rare plant gardens, green paths around the mountain, as well as planted kapok, white orchid, camphor and landscape plants and other related supporting facilities, which is a comprehensive ecological park integrating leisure, sports, entertainment and tourism.
There are many rare tree species in the park, which is a base for plant science. It has many kinds of precious tree species such as red vertebrate forest, yellow pear, teak, dendrobium and so on, and is the ‘National Timber Strategic Reserve Base’, an important ‘Excellent Precious Tree Species Cultivation Demonstration Base’ and ‘Pine Tree It is an important ‘excellent precious tree species cultivation demonstration base’ and ‘pine tree high-yield fat base’ of the Tropical Forestry Experimental Centre, and has important forestry science experiments such as meteorology, fire prevention, soil measurement positioning and ‘Guangxi high-quality spring water source point’, with extremely important forestry research value.
The Baiyun Mountain Ancient Fortress on the peak of Baiyun Mountain is a national key cultural relics protection unit. The fortress was built in the Qing dynasty in the Guangxu period, sitting in the south to the north, the plane is rectangular, covers an area of about 1445 square metres. Battery wall for the masonry structure, divided into two inside and outside, outside the heavy arch inscribed on the forehead of the ‘Wei Lian Zuo Tai’ four words, there are three rooms and ranks of soldiers, two patios, east and west of the soldiers room in front of the door of the stone steps leading to the top of the battery. The south side is the gun bunker, along the outside of the turret in a circle with palisade wall. The battery has important reference value for the study of Guangxi border facilities and defence in the late Qing Dynasty.
