Pingxiang City National Economic and Social Development Statistical Bulletin in 2023

In 2023, under the strong leadership of the Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Pingxiang City took Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era as its guidance, thoroughly implemented General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important requirements on Guangxi’s work, and made every effort to build the economy, promote reform and promote development, benefit people’s livelihood and ensure safety. All work has made new progress and reached a new level. The city’s economic operation has recovered and improved, and the quality and efficiency of development has steadily improved.

1. Comprehensive

According to preliminary calculations, Pingxiang's GDP for the whole year was 9.138 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1% over the previous year at comparable prices. Among them, the added value of the primary industry was 783 million yuan, an increase of 5.0%; the added value of the secondary industry was 3.002 billion yuan, an increase of 3.7%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 5.354 billion yuan, an increase of 4.1%. The three-industry structure is 8.6:32.9:58.6 , and its contribution rates to economic growth are 11.3%, 27.2% and 61.5% respectively. Calculated by permanent population, the per capita GDP of 70,978 yuan for the whole year, an increase of 4.6% over the previous year.

At the end of the year, the city's permanent population was 128,400, of which 84,300 were urban population, accounting for 65.65% of the permanent population (urbanization rate of permanent population), an increase of 1.13 percentage points from the end of the previous year. The annual birth rate was 751, with a birth rate of 6.20‰; the death rate was 901, with a death rate of 7.43‰; and the natural growth rate was -1.25‰.

Pingxiang City created 702 new urban jobs throughout the year, and the registered urban unemployment rate at the end of the year was 5.5%.

2. Agriculture

The annual grain planting area is 3,903 hectares, the oil planting area is 266.80 hectares, the sugarcane planting area is 2,737.40 hectares, and the vegetable planting area is 3,166.40 hectares.

The total grain output for the whole year was 16,900 tons, a decrease of 0.6% over the previous year. Cereal production was 16,300 tons, down 0.8%. Among them, the rice production was 10,800 tons, a decrease of 2.3%; the corn production was 5,500 tons, a increase of 2.4%.

The output of sugarcane was 209,700 tons, an increase of 1.5% over the previous year; the output of oil was 00,700 tons, a decrease of 0.1%; the output of vegetable was 60,300 tons, an increase of 5.3%; the output of fruit was 31,200 tons, an increase of 9.9%.

The annual output of 32,600 pigs was slaughtered, an increase of 29.0% over the previous year. The total meat production was 5,000 tons, an increase of 12.3%. Among them, the pork output was 2,700 tons, an increase of 34.6%; the poultry meat output was 2,000 tons, a decrease of 6.4%. Poultry egg production was 00,100 tons, a decrease of 78.6%.

The output of aquatic products was 3,100 tons, an increase of 5.8% over the previous year.

The annual timber harvesting volume was 200,200 cubic meters, an increase of 7.4% over the previous year.

The effective irrigation area throughout the year was 3,010 hectares, the same as last year .

3. Industry and construction industry

The total industrial added value for the whole year was 1.893 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4% over the previous year. The added value of industrial enterprises above scale increased by 4.5%. By category, the mining industry fell by 51.3%, the manufacturing industry grew by 5.3%, and the production and supply of electricity, heat, gas and water fell by 3.1%.

Among the above-scale industries, the added value of the agricultural and sideline food processing industry increased by 242.8% over the previous year, the food manufacturing industry decreased by 17.2%, the wood processing and wood, bamboo, rattan, brown and grass products industries decreased by 53.4%, the rubber and plastic products industries decreased by 45.8%, the non-metallic mineral products industries decreased by 28.4%, and the computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries decreased by 41.1%.

4. Service industry

The added value of wholesale and retail industries for the whole year was 1.368 billion yuan, an increase of 12.8 % over the previous year ; the added value of transportation, warehousing and postal industries was 569 million yuan, an increase of 9.1%; the added value of accommodation and catering industries was 259 million yuan, an increase of 4.3%; the added value of financial industries was 465 million yuan, an increase of 1.8% ; the added value of real estate industries was 317 million yuan, an increase of 2.5% ; the added value of other services was 2.351 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.7%.

The annual cargo transportation turnover was 521.7258 million tons of kilometers, an increase of 7.4%. The passenger transport turnover was 37.6201 million passenger kilometers, an increase of 253.4%.

At the end of the year, the city had 10,203 civilian vehicles, of which 9,694 were private vehicles.

The total amount of postal business completed in the whole year was 59.78 million yuan, an increase of 14.6% over the previous year. The total volume of telecommunications business completed was 193.45 million yuan, an increase of 12.6%.

5. Domestic Trade

The total retail sales of consumer goods for the whole year was 4.044 billion yuan, an increase of 3.4% over the previous year. By the location of the operating unit, the retail sales of urban consumer goods was 2.939 billion yuan, an increase of 5.1%, and the retail sales of rural consumer goods were 1.105 billion yuan, a decrease of 0.9%. According to consumption type statistics, the retail sales of goods was 3.635 billion yuan, an increase of 4.5%; the catering revenue was 410 million yuan, a decrease of 5.5%.

Among the retail sales of goods in units above the limit for the whole year , the retail sales of grain, oil and food increased by 117.6% over the previous year, beverages increased by 25.5%, tobacco and alcohol increased by 3.9%, clothing, shoes, hats, needles and textiles increased by 13.6% year-on-year, daily necessities increased by 15.5%, household appliances and audio-visual equipment increased by 22.5%, petroleum and its products increased by 62.6%, and automobiles increased by 9.0%.

6. Fixed asset investment

Fixed asset investment (excluding farmers) fell by 10.4% over the previous year, of which investment in the primary industry decreased by 66.9%; investment in the secondary industry increased by 9.5%, of which industrial investment increased by 9.5%; investment in the tertiary industry decreased by 15.9%. Infrastructure investment fell by 32.8%, while private investment fell by 5.0%.

Investment in real estate development throughout the year increased by 242.6% over the previous year. The sales area of commercial housing was 39,000 square meters, an increase of 10.2%.

7. Foreign economy

The total foreign trade import and export volume for the whole year was RMB 184.514 billion, an increase of 12.7% over the previous year. Among them, exports were RMB 143.425 billion, an increase of 6.3%; imports were RMB 41.089 billion, an increase of 42.3%. The difference in import and export (export reduction) is RMB 102.336 billion.

8. Finance and Finance

The annual general public budget revenue was 483 million yuan, an increase of 22.4% over the previous year, of which tax revenue was 347 million yuan, accounting for 68.2% of the general public budget revenue. General public budget expenditure was 2.178 billion yuan, an increase of 4.0% over the previous year.

At the end of the year, the balance of deposits of financial institutions in domestic and foreign currencies in Pingxiang City was 13.103 billion yuan at the end of the year, an increase of 12.5% year-on-year, of which the balance of deposits of households was 9.56 billion yuan. 9. Residents' income consumption and social security

The per capita disposable income of residents was 32,660 yuan, a nominal increase of 4.6% over the previous year (the same below). According to permanent residence, the per capita disposable income of urban residents was 44,283 yuan, an increase of 4.1% over the previous year; the per capita disposable income of rural residents was 17,729 yuan, an increase of 6.2% over the previous year.

The per capita consumption expenditure of residents for the whole year was 19,476 yuan, a nominal decrease of 10.0% over the previous year (the same below). According to permanent residence, the per capita consumption expenditure of urban residents was 26,716 yuan, an increase of 11.6%; the per capita consumption expenditure of rural residents was 10,175 yuan, an increase of 4.9%.

At the end of the year, 23,838 people participated in the basic pension insurance for urban employees in the city, and 58,677 people participated in the basic pension insurance for urban and rural residents. The number of people participating in basic medical insurance for urban employees was 19,345, an increase of 583 over the previous year; the number of people participating in basic medical insurance for urban and rural residents was 101,296. The number of people participating in unemployment insurance was 14,371, an increase of 976. At the end of the year, 1,961 people received unemployment insurance benefits. The number of people participating in work-related injury insurance was 14,469, an increase of 768. The number of people participating in maternity insurance was 19,345.

10. Education and Science and Technology

The general high school enrolls 700 students and 2,107 students are currently enrolled. There are 1,451 students enrolled in ordinary junior high schools and 4,283 students. Ordinary primary schools recruit 2,443 students and 12,588 students. The number of students in secondary vocational education enrolled 130 students, 207 students and 41 graduates throughout the year. The consolidation rate of nine-year compulsory education is 100%, and the gross enrollment rate in high school is 93.37%.

The annual patent authorization volume is 30.

There are 6,390 students in ordinary middle schools and 12,588 students in ordinary primary schools.

There are 2,283 professional and technical personnel of various types in urban units in the city, of which according to professional and technical positions: 302 senior positions and 747 intermediate positions; 48 engineering and technical personnel and 28 agricultural technicians are divided into professional categories.

11. Culture, Tourism and Health

At the end of the year, there will be one professional art performance group, one library, one cultural center, and one museum in the city.

The city received 8.7854 million domestic tourists throughout the year, and the domestic tourism revenue was 8.048 billion yuan.

At the end of the year, there were 33 medical and health institutions (including health clinics) in the city. Among them, there are 2 hospitals, 4 township health centers, 1 community health service center, 32 clinics (health centers, medical rooms), 1 Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 1 Health Supervision Institute (Center), and 1 Maternal and Child Health Hospital (Station, Station). There are 970 health technicians, including 276 practicing physicians and practicing assistant physicians, 459 registered nurses, and 59 rural doctors and health workers. There are 527 beds in medical and health institutions, including 313 hospitals and 107 township health centers.

12. Resources, environment and emergency management

The land area of the city's administrative area is 64,497.77 hectares. The afforestation area was 771.925 hectares throughout the year, and the forest coverage rate was 54.6%.

The average city's precipitation throughout the year was 1102.8 mm. The total water consumption for the whole year was 45.9382 million cubic meters, an increase of 7.5% over the previous year. Among them, residents' domestic water use 9.6995 million cubic meters, industrial water use 2.4969 million cubic meters, agricultural water use 31.1417 million cubic meters, and ecological water replenishment of 2.6 million cubic meters.

The average temperature in Pingxiang City throughout the year was 22.1℃, 0.2℃ higher than the previous year.

The number of deaths in various production safety accidents in the city throughout the year was 3, the number of deaths in road traffic was 1, and the number of deaths in construction safety accidents was 2.
