Huashan Rock Painting in Ningming County, Chongzuo City

 "The cliffs are facing the river, and the scenery and embroidery gallery on both sides of the river are blooming. The mountains are full of flowers, and a pool of clear shadows are drunk in the fairyland." In the writings of literati and poets, the cultural landscape of Zuojiang Huashan rock paintings is amazing and beautiful.

  On the cliffs of dozens of meters in the river, groups of vivid human figures, animals and objects appear on it. The Luo Yue people, the ancestor of the Zhuang tribe, hunted, prayed, or sacrificed, and the scene was rich and enthusiastic. Although this "big masterpiece" has been going on for more than 2,000 years, the rich charm it contains has been renewed and amazing.

On July 15 ,   2016 , the cultural landscape of Zuojiang Huashan Rock Paintings (hereinafter referred to as Huashan Rock Paintings) was included in the World Cultural Heritage List by the UNESCO World Heritage Committee, filling the gap in the world cultural heritage of Chinese rock paintings.

  Huashan rock paintings stretch for hundreds of kilometers. A total of 89 remains of rock paintings (including 189 places, more than 300 groups, and more than 5,000 images) have been discovered today, distributed in four counties (districts) of Ningming, Longzhou, Jiangzhou and Fusui.

  The ruggedness and grandness of Huashan rock paintings are concentrated on the Linjiang cliff on the east bank of Mingjiang, Ningming Yaoda Village. The rock paintings are about 90 meters high from the river surface, about 30 meters at the lowest point, and the picture is about 172 meters wide. There are more than 1,900 images of people, animals, bronze drums, etc. , and the largest portrait is as high as 3.6 meters. It reflects the rich life scenes of the Luoyue people and the national spirit of hard work, bravery and struggle, and is an immortal artistic masterpiece of the Zhuang ancestors.

  What are the pigments used for these paintings? How did the ancestors of the Zhuang people draw it? Huashan rock paintings are like a "wordless heavenly book". There are many unsolved mysteries, and the academic community has not yet formed a unified conclusion that is completely convincing, which adds to the infinite charm of Huashan rock paintings.

  Nowadays, to appreciate the magic of Huashan rock paintings, you need to take a boat from Ning Mingzhulian Visitor Service Center. During the journey, the boat was walking on the rivers, with the water surface rippling with green waves and green mountains on both sides. Birds and beasts were often seen, which was quite like "the apes on both sides could not stop crying, and the light boat had already passed thousands of mountains."

  Nowadays, when tourists from other places come to Chongzuo, the first choice must be the Huashan Rock Painting Scenic Area. Huashan rock paintings have become the golden business card of cultural tourism in our city.

  In recent years, Ningming has improved hardware supporting facilities such as tourist centers, boat docks, A- class toilets, luxury cruise ships, and has also built a number of tourism transportation construction projects such as Zhulian Ferry, Zhulian Wharf to Yuyao Tourism Highway to ensure smooth transportation and tourists have fun.

  We need both mountains of gold and silver, as well as green waters and green mountains. As a world cultural heritage, Huashan rock paintings have always emphasized the importance of protection and development. On July 15 this year , the "Regulations on the Protection of Cultural Landscape of the Zuojiang Huashan Rock Paintings in Chongzuo City" was officially implemented, providing strong legal guarantees for the protection of Huashan Rock Paintings in the "post-World Heritage Application" era .
