Guiyang Municipal Veterans Affairs Bureau Functional Information
As a working department of the Guiyang Municipal Government, the Guiyang Municipal Bureau of Veterans' Affairs is responsible for implementing the guidelines, policies and decisions of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Provincial Party Committee and the Municipal Party Committee on the work of veterans, and adhering to the centralized and unified leadership of the CPC on the work of veterans in fulfilling its duties.
The main responsibilities are: to formulate and organize the implementation of policies and regulations on the ideology and politics of veterans, service guarantee and resettlement and preferential treatment, to commend and show the spirit and value of veterans' sacrifice and dedication to the Party, the country and the people, to be responsible for the transfer and resettlement of military cadres, demobilized cadres, retired cadres, retired soldiers and retired employees without military status, and to organize and guide the management of service and treatment of veterans who have chosen their own jobs or employment, and to ensure the protection of veterans' work. Security work, organization and guidance of education and training of veterans, preferential treatment and pension, help and assistance, organization and guidance of the city's support for the military, responsible for the martyrs and veterans honorary awards, maintenance of military cemeteries and commemorative activities and other duties.
