Beijing Municipal Bureau of Statistics

1. To carry out PRC laws, rules, regulations and standards of statistics work and formulate local governmental rules and regulations; to devise local statistical system and standards; to supervise and examine the implementation of statistical laws, rules, regulations, system and standards; to organize and coordinate Beijing's statistical work and make sure statistical data is authentic, accurate and timely.

2. To carry out national economic accounting system; to organize and implement national economic accounting system for all districts and counties in Beijing; to conduct Beijing's input-output survey; to conduct gross regional production accounting of all districts and counties; to compile and submit national economic accounting data; to supervise and manage national economic accounting of all districts and counties.

3. To organize general investigation in areas about major national conditions and strength like population, economy and agriculture; to work with relevant departments to carry out general and specific investigation about municipal conditions and strength; to collect, sort out and provide statistical data regarding municipal conditions and strength. 

4. To conduct statistical survey for various industry of national economy in Beijing; to collect and provide statistics for related surveys; to organize and provide basic and comprehensive municipal statistics in fields such as geological prospecting, transportation, postal service, education, health, social security and public undertaking.

5. To conduct statistical investigation into the basic conditions of areas including energy, investment, pricing, income, science and technology, population, labor market, tourism, social development fundamentals and environment; to collect, compile, reorganize and provide statistics for related surveys; to provide basic and comprehensive municipal statistics in fields like resources, housing, foreign trade.

6. To conduct statistical surveys in domains of economy, society, science and technology, resources and environment for all districts, counties and departments; to provide unified review, management and release of basic municipal statistics; to publish statistical information of national economy and social development on a regular basis.

7. To conduct statistical analysis, forecast and supervision on issues like national economy, social development, science and technology progress, resources and environment in Beijing, to provide statistical information and advice for municipal Party committee, municipal government and relevant departments.

8. To approve or file on record of statistical survey projects of all departments, districts and counties; to provide guidance on building professional statistical foundation and grassroots business statistics; to build and improve quality auditing, monitoring and assessment system for statistics; to audit, monitor and assess important statistics; to supervise statistical activities concerning foreign affairs in accordance with laws.

9. To coordinate with key personnel from statistical departments of district and county-level governments according to law; to provide guidance on talent team building, education and training of local statistical professionals; to arrange qualification assessment and recognition for statistical practitioners; to work with relevant departments to organize professional qualification examinations and position evaluation and employment; to supervise district and county-level statistical departments on their statistical expenditure and special basic construction investment provided by municipal finance bureau.

10. To formulate Beijing's statistical information project construction plan, and establish, improve and manage local statistical automation and database system; to build and manage Beijing's macro-economic and social development basic database, design basic standards and operation rules for statistics database and network of each district, county and department; to provide guidance on building statistical information-based system for districts and counties.

11. To undertake other work assigned by the municipal government and National Bureau of Statistics.
