Beijing Dongcheng District Judicial Bureau is a working department of the district government, the main responsibilities are:
(a) to undertake policy research on major issues of comprehensive rule of law in the district, coordinate the relevant parties to put forward comprehensive rule of law in the district in the medium and long term planning recommendations, and be responsible for the deployment of the relevant major decisions and inspections.
(b) To assume responsibility for co-ordinating the promotion of the construction of the rule of law government in the district. Guiding and supervising the administration of the district government departments in accordance with the law. Responsible for the comprehensive coordination of administrative law enforcement, undertake to promote administrative law enforcement system reform related work, promote strict standardisation of fair and civilised law enforcement. Guiding and supervising the administrative reconsideration and administrative appeal work in the district, responsible for administrative reconsideration and administrative compensation cases. Organisation or contractor of the district government, the District Judicial Bureau of administrative litigation cases should be represented by the municipal government, the Municipal Bureau of Justice ruled that the administrative reconsideration of the case processing work.

It guides and supervises the work of lawyers, notaries, legal aid, forensic science and grass-roots legal services.
(vii) Completing other tasks assigned by the District Committee and the District Government.
