Beijing Municipal Commission of Urban Management is a deliberation and coordination body of the Municipal Government.

Main functions include: 

1. implementing the important decisions of the Central Committee of the CPC, the State Council, the municipal Party committee and the municipal government on environmental construction and urban management; 

2. studying and reviewing the programs, plans, general schemes, major policies and measures for the environmental construction and urban management of the capital city; 

3. coordinating the major issues concerning the environmental construction and urban management in the capital city, coordinating and linking up the relevant planning, construction, management and law enforcement processes; 

4. making overall planning and coordinating the environmental construction work of the capital city, the central entities and troops stationed in Beijing; 

5. establishing and improving the capital city's supervision and evaluation systems for the environmental construction and urban management, and the coordination and collaboration mechanism for joint governance and management and joint construction and sharing;  

6. supervising, inspecting and assessing the implementation of environmental construction and urban management in the capital city, and coordinating the efforts made to solve major issues encountered.
