- Longzhou County is located in the southern border of the People's Republic of China, southwest of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, west of Chongzuo City, upstream of the Zuojiang River, south of the Tropic of Cancer, with latitude 22° 8' 49.35“ - 22° 44‘ 42.30” north and longitude 106° 33' 23.33“ - 107° 12’ 42.56” east. It is adjacent to Jiangzhou District of Chongzuo City in the east, Ningming County in the southeast, Pingxiang City in the south, Cao Binh Province of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the west and northwest, and Daxin County in the northeast. Longzhou County is the hometown of the Red 8 Army, the hometown of Chinese Tianqin art, the hometown of longevity in China, and the world heritage site of Huashan rock painting culture.
Longzhou County borders with Vietnam in five townships: Binqiao, Xiajian, Shuikou, Vu Duc and Jinlong. Longzhou section of the Sino-Vietnamese border is 184 kilometers long. 1889, Longzhou was opened as a foreign land trade port, is the earliest open to the outside world of Guangxi ports of commerce, but also China and Southeast Asian countries to carry out cultural and trade exchanges with the important gateway, known as the “frontier town” “small Hong Kong”. “It is also an important gateway for cultural and trade exchanges between China and Southeast Asian countries. In Longzhou County, there is a national first-class port - ShuiKou port, national second-class port - KeJia port, there are ShuiKou, KeJia, NaHua, the layout of the 4 Border Mutual Market Points.
Provincial Highway 319, Provincial Highway 325 and the Zuo River pass through the county. Longzhou Town, the county seat, is 154 kilometers away from Nanning City, the capital of the autonomous region (Chongshui and Nanyou Expressway).
In 2024, the county has 5 towns and 7 townships, 117 administrative villages and 17 communities, with a resident population of about 227,000, of which about 95% are Zhuang. The administrative area of the county is 2,311.19 square kilometers, with a surface water area of 4,634.93 hectares, of which rivers cover an area of 2,423.13 hectares, reservoirs cover an area of 530.40 hectares, mountain ponds cover an area of 196.07 hectares, ponds cover an area of 510.20 hectares and ditches cover an area of 975.13 hectares. There are 8 major rivers, including Shuikou River, Ping and River, Lijiang River, Mingjiang River, Heishui River, Yuyang River, Donggui River, and Mingshi River, all belonging to the Xijiang River system of the Pearl River Basin. The total length of rivers in the county is 178.5 kilometers.
