- [History of Establishment]
The name “Heshan” was derived from the name “Heshan Qianshan Company” in 1919 when Gong Zheng, a native of Guixian County, and Yao Jiansheng, a native of Guiping County, went to mine coal in Heling Mountain (the old mine in Liyang Village, Lingnan Township, Heshan City, nowadays) and took the name of the mine “Heshan Qianshan Company”, from which the name “Heshan” was derived and has been used ever since. The name “Heshan” came from this, and is still in use today. Today, the city of Heshan, Qin belongs to Guilin County. Han Yuan Ding six years (111 BC) belongs to the Yulin County, led Fang County. Three Kingdoms Wu Yuanxing six years (264) changed to belong to Linpu County. From Jin Dynasty to Sui Dynasty, it belonged to the land of Lingfang County. Tang Zhenguan five years (631) belonged to tie up Sigang Prefecture. 【Administrative divisions】
Heshan City, June 29, 1981 by the State Council approved the establishment of the former Laibin City, Beisi Commune (including autonomous regions in the Heshan directly under the plant, mining area) for the city, with a total area of 360 square kilometers. Geology and Geomorphology] The geology of Heshan belongs to the limestone erosion basin and hilly valley, which is formed after many sea and land changes. The earth's tectonic structure in the territory is relatively simple, and the folds and ruptures are not well developed. There are folds such as Heshan Beisi Oblique, Jinji Oblique and Huanshan Dorsal Oblique; and there are faults such as Lintai-Heli Reverse Fault and Gama-Ganlin Positive Fault. The terrain slopes from northeast to southwest, with higher elevations in the north, east and southeast, a basin in the center, and lower elevations in the west and southwest. The main mountain ranges are: April 8 Ridge, 593 meters above sea level; Snail Mountain, 543 meters above sea level; Si Yan Mountain, 518 meters above sea level. The Hongshui River flows along the southwest of the city, and the total length of the river section under the jurisdiction is 25.3 kilometers.
【Industrial Development】
Heshan City has five major industries: electric power, coal, wood processing, calcium carbonate, and sugar, with the electric power industry mainly located in the power plant area, the coal industry and calcium carbonate industry mainly located in Beisi Town and Heli Town, the wood processing industry mainly located in Lingnan and Heli areas, and the sugar industry dominated by Lingnan area. 【Climate and hydrology】
Climate Heshan City is a subtropical monsoon climate, monsoon is obvious, four seasons. The temperature is higher than the rest of the same latitude, the precipitation distribution is more uniform throughout the year, there is no obvious rainy season. Spring is warm and humid; summer is hot with many bursts of precipitation, and the flood season has more abundant precipitation; fall is mostly dry and cool, with a 60% probability of drought; and winter is mostly dry and cold, with fewer frosty days. The average temperature of Heshan City is 21.2℃ for many years, and the average temperature of Heshan City is 21.8℃ this year, which is 0.6℃ lower than last year's annual average and 0.6℃ higher than the average of all the years; the highest temperature of 37.8℃ and the lowest temperature of 0℃ occur; the average relative humidity is 79%, the average wind speed is 1.8m/s, and the amount of rainfall is 1,124.6mm, which is 556.4㎜ lower than that of 2020.
Hydrology Heshan City is rich in water resources, with surface water from three major rivers, namely Hongshui River, Beisi River and Heoli River, as well as eight small reservoirs on the register, located in Beisi Town and Heoli Town, of which there are six small (1)-type reservoirs, i.e., Nanhong, Dongting, Luoshan, Dushan, Luosha and Bucket Bridge Reservoirs; and two small (2)-type reservoirs, i.e., Liuli and Shiali Reservoirs. The total reservoir capacity is 15,850,000 m3. There are 4 underground rivers, including Suhe, Matan, Siguang and Heli. The Hongshui River belongs to the Pearl River system and is the most important river in Heshan City, with an average annual flow of 2,110 m3/s. After the construction of the Qiaogong Hydropower Station in the downstream of the Heshan section in 2005, the water level has risen sharply, and the flow rate has also changed.
【Natural Resources】
Land Resources According to the results of the third national land survey of Heshan City, the total land area of the city is 548,580 mu, of which: 123,083.85 mu of arable land, 135,545.15 mu of garden land, 333,141.9 mu of forest land, 9,076.5 mu of grassland, 39,536.7 mu of land for townships, villages, industries and mines, 4,580.55 mu of land for transportation and 17,200.05 mu of water area. , 423.3 acres of land for hydraulic construction, and 7,849.5 acres of other land. Compared with the data of the 2018 annual land change survey results that have been confirmed by the state, the net flow of land change shows a decreasing trend, except for garden land, forest land and transportation land which show an increasing trend, and other land such as cropland, grassland, industrial and mining land and other land.
Mineral resources Heshan City is rich in mineral resources, the main minerals are coal, limestone, mudstone, sandstone, dolomite, calcite, iron ore and other 14 kinds of minerals, because of the abundance of coal is known as the “coal capital” of Guangxi. Heshan City coal field geological reserves of about 617 million tons, coal field area of more than 300 square kilometers, accounting for 83% of the total area of the city. According to the survey, Heshan City has about 770 million tons of limestone ore reserves, which is one of the marble bases in Guizhong. Heshan City has about 200 households with 800 returned overseas Chinese and their dependents, of which about 40 are returned overseas Chinese. 【Ethnicity and Religion】
Ethnicity Heshan City has a total population of 129,000, with Han, Zhuang, Mongolian, Yi, Hui, Miao, Yao, Manchu, Dong, Shui, Maonan, Mulao, Jing, Pumi and other ethnic groups living in the city, of which the Han account for 19.89% of the total population, the Zhuang account for 77.19%, and other ethnic minorities account for 2.92%.
Religion There are two legal places of religious activity in Heshan City, namely the East Mine Catholic Church and the Lingyan Temple in Heshan City, and there are no places of Taoism, Christianity or Islam in the city, and no religious organizations have been established in the city. There are about 370 religious believers, and it is difficult to count the number of believers. The distribution of religious people is relatively concentrated, mainly in the mining area and the villages and towns around the townships. The structure of the believers is older and mostly female. There is a great deal of crossover and overlap among the believers, i.e., many of them have two or more religious beliefs at the same time.
