Yizhou District is located in the northeast of central Guangxi, 344 kilometers to Nanning City in the south and 89 kilometers to Liuzhou City in the east. The region has a population of 665,100, with 9 towns and 7 towns under its jurisdiction, and a land area of 3,869 square kilometers. There are 30 ethnic groups inhabited in the territory, including Zhuang, Han, Yao, Miao, Mulao, Shui, and Maonan. Zhuang is the most populous ethnic minority in Yizhou.

In May 2016, the China Silk Association awarded Yizhou China High-quality Cocoon Wire Production Base. In 2019, the National Cocoon Silk Industry Production and Sales Silk Industry Analysis Conference and the National Quality Cocoon Silk Base On-site Conference were held in Yizhou. Zhejiang University’s “Qiushi” spirit was born.
