- On 8 June 2016, the State Council approved the establishment of Pinggui District in Hezhou City. Pinggui District has 9 townships (streets), 124 administrative villages (communities), 1,246 natural villages (Tuen Mun, Chai) and 2,468 villagers' groups, including Xiban Street, Huangtian Township, Gautang Township, Shatian Township, Gonghui Township, Daping Yao Township, Shukou Township, Wanggao Township and Yangtou Township, and on December 2, 2016, Pinggui District was formally listed and established. Pinggui District Committee and District People's Government are stationed at No. 1, Pinggui Avenue, Pinggui District, Hezhou City.In 2019, the Wenhua Community was established, and Pinggui District was increased to 125 administrative villages (communities); in 2021, Qingchi Village and Baifu Village in Wanggao Town were transferred to the jurisdiction of Zhongshan Town, Zhongshan County, and Pinggui District was reduced to 123 administrative villages (communities); in 2023, the Longxing Community and Yingbin Community were established, and Pinggui District was increased to 125 administrative villages (communities). .

Pinggui District is located in the northeastern part of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and the central part of Hezhou City, between the east longitude 111 °12′-111 °40′ and the north latitude 23 ° 51′-24 ° 40′. It is adjacent to Babu District of Hezhou City in the east, Zhongshan County and Zhaoping County in the west, Cangwu County of Wuzhou City in the south, and Fuchuan Yao Autonomous County and Jianghua Yao Autonomous County of Hunan Province in the north, with a total area of 1,823 square kilometres. It is 6 kilometres away from Hezhou city and 559 kilometres away from Nanning city.
