Xingye County is located in the southeastern part of Guangxi, and is crossed by Lizhan Railway, Guangkun Expressway, Liyu Expressway, National Highway 324 and Provincial Highway 511. The administrative area is 1468 square kilometres. It has 13 towns under its jurisdiction, 11 community residents‘ committees, 3 street residents’ committees and 201 villagers' committees. The county people's government is located in Shinan Town. 2023 the end of the total household population of 747,800 people, including 185,700 people in towns and villages, 562,100 people, and 19,900 people of Zhuang ethnicity. The annual number of births was 4,585, with a birth rate of 6.11 per thousand and a natural population growth rate of -0.66 per thousand. The area of urban roads is 1,654,500 square metres. The number of automobiles owned is 75,400. The total power of agricultural machinery is 472,800 kilowatts. The main tourist attractions (points) are Lufeng Mountain Scenic Spot, Yanshan Scenic Spot, Pingshan Ancient Village Scenic Spot, Gui Southeast Anti-Japanese Armed Uprising Scenic Spot and so on. The annual reception of tourists 4,194,900 people, to achieve tourism spending of 3.523 billion yuan. Important mineral resources include limestone, granite and fluorite. Famous local products include cement, sour material, rice, tea, Sanhuang chicken, etc. During the year, Xingye County was awarded the National Green High-Yield and High-Efficiency Creation Project (Rice) Promotion County, the National Pig Transfer County, the Autonomous Region Family Farm Demonstration County, the Sixth Batch of Autonomous Region Demonstration County for Progress in National Unity; Xingye County was successfully selected as the list of Autonomous Region Pilot Experiment of Comprehensive Rural Reform in 2024-2025; the Supervisory Assessment of the Performance of Educational Duties of Xingye County was awarded ‘Excellent’ for the third consecutive year in the Autonomous Region. The supervisory assessment of Xingye County's fulfilment of education duties has been awarded ‘excellent’ grade for three consecutive years in the autonomous region, and it has become the first county in Guangxi to pass the supervisory assessment of quality and balanced development of compulsory education in the county area of the autonomous region.

In 2023, Xingye County achieved a GDP of 20.205 billion yuan, an increase of 4.2% over the previous year, of which the added value of the primary industry was 5.749 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry was 5.917 billion yuan (of which the added value of the industry was 3.019 billion yuan, an increase of 3.2%), and the added value of the tertiary industry was 8.540 billion yuan, an increase of 4.4%, 1.5%, and 6.0% respectively. Per capita GDP was RMB 39,583, an increase of 4.1 per cent over the previous year. Fiscal revenue of 918 million yuan, of which 563 million yuan of public finance budget revenue, public finance budget expenditure of 3.379 billion yuan. The investment in fixed assets of the whole society declined by 10.1 per cent. Total retail sales of consumer goods amounted to 3.792 billion yuan, an increase of 2.0% over the previous year. Foreign trade import and export totalled 47.92 million yuan. Per capita disposable income of urban residents was 37,164 yuan, an increase of 3.9% over the previous year; per capita consumer spending was 23,988 yuan, an increase of 8.9% over the previous year. Rural residents per capita disposable income of 20117 yuan, an increase of 6.5% over the previous year; per capita living consumption expenditure of 12,559 yuan, an increase of 5.0% over the previous year. The balance of savings deposits of urban and rural residents at the end of the year was 20.294 billion yuan, an increase of 10.4 per cent over the previous year.
